2022 is here and the DHIS2 Community will continue to thrive. The Community of Practice is open to create opportunities, help find solutions, and especially continue sharing success stories and DHIS2 experiences. This is all possible because of helpful and active community members in the CoP, and every contribution matters, thank you!
Quick reminders that you might find useful for 2022:
- New opportunities for those interested to work with the DHIS2 core team, check out the hiring page! The Marketplace category is also a place where you can find as well as post DHIS2 professional career and development opportunities.
- @dhis2-security team are in the CoP, read about the latest security updates here: dhis2-security and hereâs how to receive all email notifications for all future security alerts (New âdhis2-securityâ tag for all important security alerts!)
- The first global DHIS2 for Education Academy is taking place in The Gambia in February 2022 and more education events to follow, so if youâd like to learn more about EMIS updates, future projects and initiatives, donât miss out the webinar in January 18, 2022 (Upcoming âDHIS2 For Educationâ Webinar, Tuesday 18 January 2022, 12:00 (GMT+1))
Do you have ideas that will move the Community of Practice forwards in 2022?
Please feel free to share them to community@dhis2.org. In the EoY event, some members shared the following ideas:
-
Global navigation banner: a community member asked if we could make it easier to navigate between the CoP and other DHIS2 sites. We thought that was a great idea, so now you can see at the top of the CoP site a global navigation bar that is similar to the one that was included in the new DHIS2.org design.
-
Many CoP members showed interest in presenting about their DHIS2 experiences during CoP events, so hopefully together we can organize many community events together. (watch: https://youtu.be/JQe_f4K-3IU)
-
Struggling with the English language? You are advised to give it a try because then your post will be read globally; however, please remember we have non-English speaking categories where you can connect with people who speak your language (or assist you in translating a topic, maybe?) Check out the subcategories in Connect - Connectez-vous .
-
Local CoP meetups: Several CoP members expressed interest in meeting up with other community members in their country or region, either online or (if circumstances permit) in person. We think this is a great idea! Please feel free to join the discussion, share ideas for planning get-togethers: CoP in your country (or region)!
Letâs empower our local communities, together in 2022!
At last, hereâs our moment honoring and celebrating our helpful and active members:
December 2021:
Good Samaritans
Without Good Samaritans, thereâs no community! We are very thankful to all users for contributing to the CoP especially when helping other users. Samaritans, thank you for making others feel at home!

Bug Hunters
Many users who faced issues and discussed them with the community were very helpful in finding bugs. These bug hunters create Jira issues (with link to the CoP post) and support the development of DHIS2.

#### Feature Finders
Whenever a user is trying to accomplish something with the software but it seems to be a daunting and complicated task, the CoP is a great place to discuss if thereâs an easier way or an alternative solution. In fact, sometimes there is a workaround, and sometimes it turns out to be a feature request to be added in future DHIS2 releases. After discussion with the community, these Feature Finders create feature requests to shape the future of DHIS2!
Thank you!
