DHIS2 Android Capture App patch release 2.8.2 is now available containing many bug fixes and improvements

Dear all,

DHIS2 Android Capture App version 2.8.2 is a patch version of the DHIS2 Android App. It builds upon the last version including bug fixes that couldn’t wait for the next version. It includes no functional improvements nor changes in the user Interface. It means that your users can update without experiencing any change in the UI. This patch release is our response to challenges and bugs reported by the community. In order to continue improving the usability of the app, this release contains substantially more bug fixes than many patch versions.

Specifically, this version has incorporated a fix for the program rule engine, which was crashing on the android versions 5 and 6. So, if you are working on an implementation using devices with android 5 and 6 and you want to upgrade to the 2.8 version, be sure to use this last patch release 2.8.2 (the program rules won’t work on 2.8 and 2.8.1).

Also, it incorporates several improvements and fixes in the navigation, UI and data entry layouts, synchronization, validation for mandatory fields when executing the ‘set mandatory’ program rule actions, among many other improvements. It also prevents the app to crash under some specific circumstances. You can access the complete list of fixes and improvements here

This is the latest stable release for version 2.8.
