Upcoming Call: Hands-On Testing with Distributed Architecture!
Get ready for an exciting session tomorrow as we put our tools to the test on a distributed architecture! By request from AJH Mohamed, we’ll be diving into deploying and optimizing our tools across cloud servers via SSH.
Here’s what’s lined up :
Overview: A quick dive into the magic of distributed architecture.
Deployment : Witness a live deployment from our server to the cloud—seamless and efficient.
Post-Installation: Rigorous checks and optimizations to ensure everything runs like clockwork.
Don’t miss this chance to see our tools in action and explore the possibilities of distributed systems first-hand!
Happy New Year!
Get ready for our exciting server discussions to begin today! We’ll start with the fundamental session titled “Linux Essentials.” Since DHIS2 systems are powered by Linux, this is your chance to master these essential Linux skills and enhance your server support proficiency.
See you there!
Subject: Unleashing the Power of Linux Shells: Fish & Bash
Hey everyone,
Prepare for an exciting session today as we delve into the fascinating world of Linux shells!
We’ll begin with an introduction to shells, exploring their fundamental role in interacting with the operating system.
Next, we’ll delve deeper into the legendary Bash shell, the ubiquitous server-side default that has powered countless operations. We’ll uncover its key features and explore practical examples of how to leverage Bash scripts for a range of tasks.
Finally, we’ll introduce the innovative Fish shell, a modern alternative that offers a user-friendly experience while providing powerful system administration capabilities.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of these essential tools!
I look forward to seeing you there.
Hello Team!
We’ve always championed setting up DHIS2 on an Ubuntu server, but sometimes the cards are stacked against us, and we’re left with a Windows server. Danny, has been in this exact predicament! Tomorrow, he’s going to take us through his automated DHIS2 setup on a Windows server using PowerShell scripting. This is going to be an interesting session you won’t want to miss!
See you there,
Does dhis2 is still “windows” compatible ?
The last time we tried we had a few issues with apps installation and file lock.
Also most of doc mention windows disappeared, promoting linux instead. (if you have issues on windows, you are probably the only one having that issues)
You’re right, @Stephan_Mestach . We strongly advise against it, but sometimes, in certain implementations, it’s all you have. That’s what happened to Daniel as well. He was showing us how he automated the entire installation process using PowerShell, and it worked.
Subject: Invitation: Continuing the SSH Discussion
Hi everyone,
Last week’s session on SSH key generation and server upload options was very productive. This week, we’ll continue the discussion, focusing on:
- SSH configuration files
- Service access via port forwarding
- Security best practices using jump hosts/bastion hosts
Hope to see you there!
Hey. Still waiting to be added to the meetings or get a link? How do I join?
Hello,
Your email address please?
@lillian1n2, you are now added to the invite list.
Today’s Agenda: Introduction to Docker in the context of DHIS2
As you already know, DHIS2 can be deployed using containers, especially Docker . Tomorrow, Baboucarr will kick off the Container Security series with an introductory session, "Introduction to Docker in the context of DHIS2 ". Future sessions will dive deeper into Advanced Docker & Container Security.
@here Today’s meetup started: Backup and Restore DHIS2 Databases
Thanks!
Hi Tito, unfortunately I missed this meeting and I really wanted to be park of it. Do you have a recording of the meeting?
Hi @Mayamiko
@tkipkurgat showed us during the meetup that we can access the recordings from the Google Calendar invitation. Please see the event in your calendar. ![]()
Sorry you missed it, BTW! ![]()
Thanks!
