Turn off data aggregation

Hi,

I have been trying to configure DHIS2.18 to use aggregation levels but they seem not to work. I don’t want the system to aggregate the data element values at each org unit. Setting the selected aggregation level with-in the data element doesn’t seem to work.

Anyone done this before?

Michael

Michael,

I was wondering if you had any luck with this. I’m working with an instance where some data elements are set up to have Aggregation Levels (set at site/facility all the way up to Nation, the highest level of the OrgUnit hierarchy.) (However, we’re using version 2.14 in this particular country). We’re having difficulty when summing the data in a pivot table at any level above site/facility. If I remove the Aggregation Levels from the data elements I have better luck (but still have some strange problem.) I’d love to hear what success you’ve had.

Hi Laura,

in my case I was able to find a solution by configuration the aggregations levels before I imported the data from the legacy system. Once the aggregation levels were defined, then the system stopped aggregating the data which is what I wanted since I was dealing with survey data from a legacy system. You might also want to change your table layout as well.

Regards,

Michael

Hi Laura,

If you can describe how you want the aggregation done we can guide you on how to configure the aggregation levels.
The configuration and terminology can be a bit confusing at first. If you are not seeing any aggregate data for higher levels in the analytics (e.g in pivots) it means you have no data for the level you specified in the data element’s aggregation level.

If you specify e.g. facility and district as aggregation levels for a data element then the national total for that data element will only include data from district level and up, and not include data from levels below the district (e.g. not include facility level data).

You can query and see data for any level in the hierarchy in the analytics without specifying any aggregation level for a data element, so this is not about making aggregate data available for the various levels, but about specifying where to look for raw data when doing aggregations to higher levels.
