In the next @Developer_Meetups event on 2026-09-10T09:00:00Z, the topic will be: App Competition 2026 Finalists: Part II & AI Forum Kick-Off.
This year’s app competition had a record—4 finalists. In July’s meetup, you’ve heard from the winner, DHIS2 Audit Vision, and another finalist, DHIS2 AI Assistant (check out the CoP post with resources). This time, you’ll get to know more about how the other two were built: Org Unit Sync & Magic Glasses 2.
Priayanga Senanayaka from HISP Sri Lanka will tell more about Org Unit Sync. Org Unit Sync compares and synchronizes organisation unit metadata from a source DHIS2 instance to a target DHIS2 instance while supporting dry-runs, selective updates, moves, and audit logs, helping teams maintain aligned hierarchies without affecting data values.
Additionally, John Painter (@John_Painter) will present more about Magic Glasses 2. Magic Glasses 2 is an open-source R package and Shiny application. It identifies consistently-reporting facilities, adjusts data for missing reports and outliers, and fits time-series models with percent-change estimates and confidence intervals to evaluate program progress.
We hope to make AI forum a regular part of our meetups, so we’re extending the meetup to 1.5 hours instead of 1 (same starting time, though!).
This month’s AI forum’s topic will be: What agent tools have you found useful for getting better output while developing? This could include skills, plugins, MCPs, or configuration that you have used. Think about your experiences — a community member will kick of the discussion with theirs, and then the floor will open up to everyone!
