Sept 21 - 13:30 - What's New in DHIS2? Q&A

@taufiqhs In event reports and maps application you can when viewing tracker data, but not in the data visualizer application. That is a good suggestion ; )

Can we add external images and charts directly in the dashboard of new version?

Hi Team,

It’s time to add Currency to the Value type in the Data Element. We use many data elements for Currency. What do you think?

@Aung.K.Min, No not yet, but we have that in the roadmap

Thanks @Scott

Ah, that is interesting, thanks @phil. I was asking because at the moment we have the lots of similar graphs built, showing the same data but at different levels in the OU hierarchy, shared with different user groups via dashboards depending on their level of access. Dashboard filters could help remove having to create these multiple (but similar graphs), but I guess there is still a risk that users could change the dashboard filters and instead of seeing 3 different dashboards showing data at facility/regional/national level, could end up with 3 dashboards showing the same thing if they play around with the dashboard filters.

Does the map app work for every country where DHIS2 is deployed?

@Pierre_balamou, No each country own and operates their own separate DHIS2 instance. Separate DHIS2 instances for not “speak” to each other or to a central server. If your organization has a program or captures data access multiple countries then yes, you can build maps across multiple countries with data that your project has collected

@monika Thanks for your explanation in filter. So does it mean that if a user assigned to one lvl 4 OU could be able to modify and filter the OU under it while restricted to other lvl 4 OUs and above?

@Aung.K.Min Yes, that is correct.

@monika
Dashboard filters are added by the user themselves, and cannot be stored; they are currently just ways to explore the data within an existing dashboard. So I don’t think they answer your use case.
It sounds more like you should be taking advantage of the relative org unit selections, where possible, in the included visualizations.

Just out of interest, how will Continuous Analytics and the Server-side Cache interact together - will there be much point to the server-side cache if the analytics are continuously updating?

In terms of downloading upgraded versions of individual apps (for example data visualizer) - do all current versions support this? Or do you need to have 2.35 to do this?

Is there any plan to introduce OpenID connect in the coming versions?

API view user in 2.35 will be restricted, will this be managed by roles under authority assignment or its just an Admin role only?

That’s really clear now, thanks @phil :slight_smile:

Hi @Guerra-Arias_Maria,
The possibility to upgrade individual apps will only be available from 2.35 onwards, as it depends on a core change in how the apps are managed internally.
