Need some advice

Hi All,

The HMIS unit is integrating another division withing the ministry
into its database and that is the WASH Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
Their compilation of data from communities will be done at the
district level and data entry done at the county level. I need you to
advice me if this can be integrated into our present structure.

Attached is the data collection form they have developed and want us
to incorporate them. please advice.

Thanks

Stephen

WASH county reporting form.doc (55.5 KB)

Hi Steven,

interesting, from a quick look it seems this is just routine data,
collected monthly at a district, should be no problem.

Steven, as Lars says, this should be no problem.

I would recommend the following, if this form is in its final stage:

1) New dataset "WASH Reporting Form" or something similar, with

2) 17 new dataelements, with no (default) category combination. Here I would take away the "# of" in the names, and call them "Water points with total coli form per 100ml", "Newly constructed wells" etc. I would also cut and paste the texts A1 etc into the definition box of the DEs. Note that there seems to be a mismatch with the descriptions and the DEs, there is some mess in the ordering there.

3) Group these DEs into a WASH group

4) there should be no need to use custom form here, as the default will make it very similar (except the "# of" missing in the text)

Stephen,

Note that you for every data element (in edit data element) can specify a FormName in addition to the data element name. This FormName, when it exists, will be used in the section form.

This way you can get the naming exactly like the paper form without having to create a custom form, quite handy. In all other modules in DHIS the normal name will be used.
