Mobile reports for health workers

Discussing what benefits the community health workers could get out of the mobile applications, we were presented with the three types of reports outlined sketched below that could be useful.

  1. Cumulative numbers this year for a given data element, e.g.

Jan 4

Feb 9

Mar 7
Apr 6

Total 26

  1. As 1) but with freely chosen start and end month, e.g.

Feb 9

Mar 7

Total 16

  1. Same as above, but comparison with monthly and yearly targets (probably should include percentages)

The challenge is then to make these reports available on the mobile in a user friendly way.

Thanks Knut for sharing this.

I’d like to add a few suggestions on feedback reports for mobile:

  1. key indicator reports (selected indicators for the previous month or the year so far).

  2. Simple comparison with “neighbours”, e.g. on key indicators, completeness, or even data elements

Both of these are things that are harder to do manually, or even impossible as some of this data is not on the client at all, and will add value to the mobile client.

Also both of these could be done with an SMS I guess, which will allow us to include the broader local community and not only the registered DHIS users.
