I am new to the DHIS user list and trust that this question is appropriate for the list.
To accompany our healthcare facilities in the DR Congo, we are looking for an appropriate internationalized software package for pharmacy management. This would be a basic tool to help rural hospitals with order estimations based on previous consumption, multiple suppliers, price list generation, expiry warnings, etc. It does not necessarily need to be a POS (point of sale), but rather a decision tool to keep track of rural hospital inventory.
Please let me know if you’re using such a package or know of one that is reliable.
Your question is very appropriate - please see my comments below.

This is indeed a very common need, and which we do want to address.
Unfortunately, we have not yet had the capacity to fully concentrate
on it, and determine what existing solutions would work best, nor a
roadmap for integration of such functionality with DHIS2
installations, as was recently discussed on this list: http://www.mail-archive.com/dhis2-devs@lists.launchpad.net/msg08048.html
In 2.0.4, there was a simple way to force a refresh of calculated variables, perhaps it was a maintenance task, perhaps part of dataset, perhaps refresh of datamart. At any rate, either because of weakmindedness or interface change, I can't find a similar function in 2.0.5. Could someone point me in the right direction?
When exporting the datamart the calculated values (in the aggregateddatavalue) will be replaced or refreshed.
Similarly if you use a calculated data element in report tables the values are recalculated and refreshed every time you run the report table.
As far as I know calculated data element values only work for data mart or report tables, and not in data entry.
Where are you going to use these calculated data element values?
