Hello everyone,
My name is Mamadou Ndong Touré, and I am a researcher and practitioner working at the intersection of climate change, public health, and territorial resilience, based in Senegal, with activities across West Africa.

My research journey began with work on COVID-19, where I contributed to understanding the spatial dynamics and vulnerabilities associated with the pandemic. Building on this experience, I have since expanded my work toward climate-sensitive health risks, focusing on how climate variability (heatwaves, floods, environmental degradation) affects human health and health systems.

I have contributed to the publication of two collective books on climate, health, and territories, which aim to strengthen the scientific and policy dialogue around climate-health interactions in Africa. My work combines GIS, participatory approaches, and data-driven analysis to better inform decision-making.

More recently, I have been involved in the development of a major proposal submitted to the Green Climate Fund, in collaboration with Save the Children and UNICEF, focusing on strengthening the resilience of health systems and vulnerable communities to climate-related risks. In this project, DHIS2 has played a key role as a powerful platform for:

integrating climate and health data,

improving surveillance of climate-sensitive diseases,

supporting early warning systems,

and enhancing evidence-based planning at local and national levels.

My engagement with DHIS2 comes from its relevance as a scalable and adaptable digital health information system, particularly suited to African contexts where integrating diverse data sources is critical for resilience and decision-making.

I have been involved in projects that explore:

the integration of climate indicators into health information systems,

the use of DHIS2 for early warning systems (heatwaves, epidemics),

and strengthening data use at community and decentralized levels.

I am particularly interested in advancing the evidence base on digital systems like DHIS2 for climate-health resilience, and contributing to research that demonstrates their impact across sectors.

Looking forward to connecting, learning, and collaborating with this inspiring community!

Hello everyone,

My name is Norbert Ndungutse, and I am based in Kampala, Uganda.
I recently joined the DHIS2 community out of interest in digital health systems and how data can be better used to support decision-making, especially in our region.
By background, I work as a full-stack developer, data scientist, and AI engineer.
I am currently exploring the DHIS2 platform and learning how to get involved, especially through the App Platform, data use, and system integrations.

I have not yet been part of a DHIS2 implementation, but I am looking forward to learning from the community and contributing where possible.

Hi everyone.
It’s so lovely being here.
My name is Marvellous Abiola but you can just call me Akofe. I am a Nigerian from Nigeria.
I am a Nurse by profession (just graduated from uni last year). I also took an online course on data analytics in my final year and I’ve been looking for a way i can use my skill in healthcare.
Came across DHIS; it was like finding a secret treasure. The best thing is their academy (really easy to follow and intuitive). I just concluded the first module and what I love about DHIS is that we have all it takes to import data, validate, clean and analyze our data. I think its the coolest and its getting me pumped up.
I’m really passionate about healthcare data analysis especially public health and i hope to build a career around this but I am yet to participate in a real life project.
I love to play chess, read novels and sleep a lot.
Would love to connect with anyone and everyone.
Thank you for this community!
