Thank you, AL -Gassim. I love reading others’ contributions. Today I can tell the community that I took my first step to get Uruguay involved in this giant work of data to use it for improvement. As many other places in the world, the country faces absenteeism at High School mostly.
Then I decided to present DHIS2 to the National Administration of Public Education, which is the state organism responsible for the management and administration of education in the country.
IT technicians were asked to search the DHIS2 web to see its advantages or disadvantages to be implemented in Uruguay. Authorities answered that it could be used for other kind of projects, apart from the one mentioned.
I’m anxious to connect the entire world and enrich knowledge through interaction, hard work and precise real time data for improvement in decision making. The future does not wait.

My name is Jackson and I am a student researching about cybersecurity flaws in DHIS-2, specific to the Pacific Islands. I am keen to learn from people who have worked on this project in the islands and if there are literature produced as part of the research, I would be happy to look through and see how we can collectively work as a community to ensure patient(user) data is safe on the platform in small island developing states context. If you have worked in Solomon Islands or Vanuatu, reach out.
Hi wantok, what was your experience like since deploying the platform in PNG? What were some of your challenges in terms of collecting/inputing data? How did the team verify data input into the system?
I have worked with WHO in the Pacific Islands. I’m between contracts and taking this time to learn more about DHIS2 as I have been meaning to for some time.
My name is Yosef Ayele, and I am from Ethiopia. I have extensive experience working within government institutions and have served as a UNICEF Technical Assistant for over eight years. Recently, I learned about the DHIS2 project presentation during a UNICEF country office program training. This sparked my interest in the software, and since then, I have been actively pursuing online training over the past two weeks.
To date, I have completed the courses “Introduction to DHIS2” and “Aggregate Data Capture and Validation”, earning certificates for both. I am currently in the process of completing the third course, “Aggregate Data Analysis in DHIS2”.
Upon completing these courses, my plan is to implement DHIS2 to integrate UNICEF data management routines at my workplace. Additionally, I aim to further enhance my expertise in DHIS2 by undertaking advanced courses to become a higher-level specialist in the system.
