Hi Alex,

During the installing I think I remembered installing it when I was installing ubuntu. If that is not what you are talking about could just guide me that I can do the installing over.

Thanks

Hi Stephen,

I am really no expert in this, but I think it looks like it is trying a network boot. See if hitting F10 can get you into the BIOS to set boot order to hard drive as described here:

Dear Knut,
He can try that option but I am not sure it will boot.
Normally the server move through all the boot options and end up at
network boot. So even if he set it at hard drive it will not boot.

Dear Stephen,
Please do as follows:
Turn off the software RAID in BIOS, and it should work fine.

To disable the Bxxxi RAID, do this:

On Boot press F9 and enter the Setup

    System Options
       SATA Controller Options
Embedded SATA Configuration : Enable SATA Legacy Support

HP Dynamic Smart Array Bxxxi RAID Controller : Disabled

    PCI Device Enable/Disable

       Intel(R) SATA Controller #1 : Enabled
       Intel(R) SATA Controller #2 : Enabled
HP Dynamic Smart Array Accelerator Manager : Disabled

And then install Ubuntu again.

Dear Stephen

I am using clustered VM server from 2012, so I almost forget the physical server installation. From my earlier notes:

Enable Hardware RAID and crate a RAID level 5 (or any desired level) volume. Then Install Ubuntu again. Use volume partitioning as default if you don’t sure what you are doing. Hope that will solve the problem.

Stephen,

You can also try to use Intelligent Provisioning http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04419967.pdf

This will help you get started easily.
