Hi
Depends a bit on what you mean. DHIS2 is not really designed to store
lab results as such. There are lab systems and lab modules for clinic
systems that would do that. DHIS2 might store routine reported
dataelements which derive from a lab system or machine, but these are
typically counts of how many tests were done of a certain type.
You can see an example dataset which includes some of these here
DHIS2 App Hub (login
admin/district).

Hi Lemoene,
I see you are working with Bikalabs.com, which I think is very interesting. Could you explain in a bit more detail how you see your use case?
Thanks,
Knut

Fully agree with Bob.
Also very interested like Knut to see how you plan to use DHIS2. I have experience of importing data from other system including ORACLE, SQL Server, Excel and CSV to DHIS2. So I think I might be helpful.

Hannan

We are considering the export of summarised lab data from Bika
Health to DHIS2 for interpretation in epidemiological context. Bika
Health, for health care laboratories, is being branched from Gaob
Bika 3 our ‘universal’ LIMS trunk. A release candidate for the
latter is taking shape at .
We are starting A&D for this function now, under the usual time
and budget constraints, and appreciate all guidance. We have not
worked with DHIS2 before.
An initial KISS approach could be to create a report summarising the
data required in DHIS2, and then exporting it as CSV. Much appreciated. In this case, Bika will be using its native ZODB
object database. JSON could be another possibility for the
interface, but we want to keep things simple at first.

We are considering the export of summarised lab data from Bika Health LIMS to DHIS2 for interpretation in epidemiological context. An initial KISS approach could be to create a report summarising the data required in DHIS2 in the LIMS, and then exporting it as CSV.
Is this feasible?
Thanks
lemoene
Hello lemoene,
yes I think this is very feasible. CSV can be imported through the
user interface and through the web api. The format is documented here:
http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch17s04.html
Essentially you need to synchronize between the DHIS UIDs of the data
elements and organisational units you want to include, then produce
and import the CSV file.
