We are pleased to share that DHIS2 is now included in the FAO Inventory of ICT for One Health — a curated inventory of digital tools that support work across the human, animal and environmental health sectors.
The inventory is developed and maintained by the FAO Community of Practice on Information and Communication Technologies for One Health (ICT CoP), and profiles tools against a set of One Health capacities. DHIS2 is listed for its capabilities spanning surveillance, diagnostics, data analysis and modelling, and cross-sectoral data sharing, with a global coverage footprint.
Inclusion reflects the growing use of DHIS2 as a shared platform for One Health approaches. Across the community, countries are already using DHIS2 to bring data together across sectors: community-based event surveillance for early detection (Tanzania), cross-sector data sharing across ministries of health, livestock and environment (Burkina Faso), national One Health and e-Zoonosis platforms (Indonesia, Rwanda), and reporting of verified animal health events to FAO’s global early warning system, EMPRES-i (DRC, Guinea). Being featured in the FAO inventory makes DHIS2 easier to find for ministries, partners and practitioners who are looking for tools suited to integrated, cross-sectoral surveillance and response.
