Data visualizer has no data

Hi All,
I am running DHIS 2.14 and I am running into an issue with the data visualizer where it seems to have no associated data.

I have about 8-10 org units added at level 4 all sharing a common parent. Each one has been associated to the same data set which consists of a non-negative integer collected on a semi-annual basis. Data for the Jan-July 2014 each of the periods has been entered.

I have generated the report and see that there is data present in the analytics_2014 table:

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0682d48ua3

but no matter what I do, I get a “No Values Found.” I have tried this with both firefox (vers 27.0) and chrome ( vers 32.0.1700.107) running on a Mac. I believe that this was also observed on Chrome running under Ubuntu.

This may be a red-herring/my misunderstanding but in the anyalitics_2014 table I do not see anything associating the entered data to the specific org units (although the values in the “value” column are the ones entered).

I also tried with Sunday’s snapshot and still no luck

Any suggestions?

I will be happy to provide login credentials if needed.

Cheers,
-carl

Hi Carl,

I see that your level column says NULL.

Not 100% sure, but this could be linked to missing organisation unit level names.

Have you populated those? See demo here:

http://apps.dhis2.org/dev/dhis-web-maintenance-organisationunit/organisationUnitLevel.action

Try that and run analytics again. You could also check the _orgunitstructure table and see if your orgunits are there at correct levels.

Thanks Ola, that did it. I guess I assumed that it would take use the default values “Level 1” … “Level 4”

Well spotted Ola. I missed that, which I shouldn’t have because I have seen it from time to time. Mind you I can’t help thinking that Carl’s expectation is actually reasonable enough … that in the absence of providing level names we should just provide some default. It is maybe a little bit odd as the levels don’t really “exist” in the db until they get named. But we could make this a little more sane …

Would at least be good if people got a message that the levels have not been created whenever they try to do something that requires them. Also probably should add a message that tells the user to click SAVE even if she thinks the suggestions of Level1, Level2 are fine (i.e. they seem to already exist, but don’t…)
