This session brings together stories from experience and practice in the field around using routine data. We will share how data is being used in practice, for what purpose and by whom. Different strategies and activities to promote use at different levels, different feedback and communication mechanisms, and designing for data use will be amongst the topics raised and discussed.

Q: How do we bring on board other data sources apart from the routine data (HMIS) into DHIS2?
A: In Tanzania the challenges were how to bring in data from other sources, and we managed. (1) We receive annual population projections data from the National Bureau of Statistics and we , (2) We also receive quarterly service data from EPI/vaccination and from NHIF/Health Financing and we upload it into the system (quarterly.)
