Community contributions to core DHIS2 apps

The core team has been working with the developer community to support contributions to the core DHIS2 apps and libraries, and we’re excited to highlight those contributions. In the last two months, we received a number of valuable contributions ranging from new features, critical bug fixes, to improvements to the UI library and developer tools. All of these contributions will be part of the next v43 release of DHIS2.

The contributions were coordinated through the HISP Dev champions program – special thanks to our Dev Champions from HISP Tanzania (@nnkogift), Saudigitus (@EdsonNhancale), HISP WCA (@moukaila) and for @derricknuby from HISP Rwanda, for their contributions as well as supporting others in their teams to contribute.

Some of these contributions are:

  • Introducing fuzzy search to the Global Shell for v43 (Edmilson from Saudigitus)
  • Improvements to the UI library accessibility (Edson and Celso from Saudigitus)
  • Developer tools:
    • Introducing a new hook useCurrentInfo (Davis from HISP Tanzania)
    • Support in the CLI for external community templates (Derrick from HISP Rwanda)
    • Support for relative periods in the multi-calendar (Gift from HISP Tanzania and Sumit from HISP India)
  • Improvements and fixes to several apps:
  • and more coming soon..

Join the next Developers’ meetups where we have regular demos for community contributions, and we share info about how you can take part!
