What Resources do I need to build Map for Disease Outbreak Prediction and Prevention?

I am planning to extend the current Map app and include feature for disease prediction based on data from facilities and the communities.

The idea is to combine these data with real-time satellite data on weather and other environmental conditions within Earth Engine to pinpoint where new cases are most likely to occur and use AI to ML to predict possible outbreak and preventive intervention.

Is there specific assistance within the DHIS2 community to get access to Google Earth Engine API if I am implementing for a subnational Primary Health Care Board managing about 400 health facilities with the potential to scale nationally.

Apart from the GEE is there any other resources I will need?

Interesting project that we would like to learn more about. We are doing similar efforts through the DHIS2 Climate & Health project: Climate - DHIS2

I would advice you to sign up for Google Earth Engine (GEE) on: Noncommercial – Google Earth Engine - please note that GEE is only free for noncommercial and research use.

It is not easy to add additional GEE datasets to DHIS2 Maps without forking the code (which we don’t recommend) - but we are happy to add additional datasets for you. We are currently looking into datasets on heat stress, vegetation (NDVI), and air pollution.

We have created the DHIS2 Climate app to import weather and climate data from GEE into DHIS2 (harmonised with your org units): Climate Data App - DHIS2

We are also developing a platform and tooling to combine climate/environmental data with health data using machine learning (ML): Climate Health 0.0.1 documentation

We are very open for knowledge sharing and contributions. Please contact us on climate-app@dhis2.org if you would like to join efforts.

Hi Jet,
You seem to be interested in working with maps.
HISP SA are working on an advanced maps on-line training course
We would like to discuss with you some of the features we want to develop.
Pls contact me at norah@hisp.org
Thanks
Norah

You might also want to explore data visualization tools and local health data repositories for extra insights.

Thank you @Bjorn_Sandvik , @Norah_Stoops @Oleste for the reply.

I invented my own tool called Dataorb OpenAPI Metadata Specifications (DOMS).
DOMS comes with my custom built DOMS-SERVER, DOMS-ROUTER, DOMS-CLIENT. Each of the tripod has its supporting library. One of such is the DOMS-MAP.

My DOMS-MAP currently has about 10 supporting libraries and I am creating special adapter for DHIS2 which means I have to build some custom map apps on DHIS2 that support the application in health, climate, agriculture, governance, education and other social interventions.

@Bjorn_Sandvik I will try signup with GEE because I have a dedicated DOMS-MAP-EE library.

I will also explore the Climate Data App - DHIS2 especially it’s application in disease prevention based on climate dynamics and better agriculture outcome.

About platform and tooling to combine climate/environmental data with health data using machine learning (ML) I will be glad to contribute. I have a dedicated DOMS-MAP-GPT and DOMS-MAP-ML library to explore mapping with generative AI and ML.

I will send a mail to climate-app@dhis2.org with the title RE: DHIS2 CLIMATE APP COLLABORATION

@Norah_Stoops I will send you a mail to see the possibility of collaboration.
