We have developed Logistics System and MiddleWare Application in DHIS2

Dear All,

Hope every one is doing fine. We are developing Losgistics Management System in DHIS2. It has almost done. We are developing it in the client side. It has captured last five months data successfully. We are going to roll-out other 9 districts very soon.

We have successfully solved some major issues for implementing LMIS in DHIS2 like closing balance calculation and saving, opening balance calculation, calculated data auto saving, server side API based data exporting and external dashboard development.

But we have a little bit of problem on calculating AMC and MNC in client side. We have overcome this constraint by exporting data and calculating it in the server side and showing dashboard.

For logistics calculation, I have developed a middle ware application named “DHIS2 MiddleWare Application”. Features of this apps:

  1. Exporting all dataset values of a specific dataset or all dataset.
  2. Exporting all Organization Units/ Datasets/ Dataset elements group/ Dataset elements.
  3. All kinds of Logistics calculations like AMC, MNC, Stock etc.
  4. Raw data analysis and data presentation both tabular and graphical
  5. Lots of Reports like:
    a. National Stock Status of Priority MNCH Medicines
    b. Consumption History of Priorty MNCH Medicines
    c. Stockout Status By Facilities
    d. Medicines Availability By Facility
    e. Stock Status at Different Levels
    f. Non Reported Facilitates
    g. Timeliness Status By Health Facility
    h. Data Upload Statistics
    i. Health Facility’s Performance
    j. Percent of Facilitie’s that have All Medicines
  6. Calculated data pushing in DHIS2 specific dataset and generate dashboard
  7. Modules of this apps:
    a. System Admin Management
    b. Organization/Facility Managemment
    c. Data Management
    d. Medicine Management
    e. Complain Management
    f. Entered Data Analysis(Reports)
    g. Dashboard
  8. Easy plug in with other software.

Technology:

In version-1: I have used PHP Laravel Framework and PostGreSQL Database
In version-2: Java and PostgreSQl database(Under Development)

Here I have attached DHIS2 LMIS Data Entry Screen and “DHIS2 MiddleWare Application” layout. You may visit our dashboard that generated by this application: http://69.39.239.111/~scipmp/index.php/elmis-dashboard

If you need any kind of support or suggestion about LMIS implementation in DHIS2 please let me know.

Hi Julhas,

many thanks for sharing. It is very exciting that you have built this on top of DHIS 2. The app looks great.

I assume this is for Bangladesh - are you able to share a bit more information about your project in general, like where is it being deployed, who are the stakeholders, etc?

best regards,

Lars

Hi Lars,

Thank you very much. Yes, we have developed this application and logistics system for Ministry of Health, Bangladesh Government. Sure, I will share whole the system with DHIS2 community. I want to work on it in the depth level so that i need help and more concept from you.

The “MiddleWare Applcation” has deployed in the Bangladesh Government Supply Chain Management Portal(SCMP). Now it is working and showing data in the dashboard both visual and tabular.

This application is running in schedule based. When an user(UHC, USC, SACMO, CC) is entering data in DHIS2 Logistics platform, my apps exporting those data and inserting it in our external database and doing necessary calculation for dashboard.

The main business flow of this apps as:

You can export data both manual and schedular based. In manual, you need five parameters as DHIS2 username, password, server link, dataset and month as:

Any one can check this dashboard data. It has opened for all of the Bangladesh people. I have made a link between DHIS2 and Our External Dashboard by a small app that is installed in DHIS2 as:

Hi Lamin Jawara,

You are most welcome. Yes it is possible. We have a portal on Logistics management system outside of DHIS2 that is running in overall the country from last 5 years. In this software we have this feature that can automatic send SMS to the Stakeholder if any medicine is stock out.

I will add this feature in my MiddleWare Application and Dashboard very soon. But i have not much more idea about SMS system integration with DHIS2.

In future i will work on it.Thank you very much for your observation.

Hope I can share my whole concept and development logic with you by 2/3 steps.

Thanks

Hi Julhas,

many thanks for sharing. It is very exciting that you have built this on top of DHIS 2. The app looks great.

I assume this is for Bangladesh - are you able to share a bit more information about your project in general, like where is it being deployed, who are the stakeholders, etc?

best regards,

Lars

Dear All,

Hope every one is doing fine. We are developing Losgistics Management System in DHIS2. It has almost done. We are developing it in the client side. It has captured last five months data successfully. We are going to roll-out other 9 districts very soon.

We have successfully solved some major issues for implementing LMIS in DHIS2 like closing balance calculation and saving, opening balance calculation, calculated data auto saving, server side API based data exporting and external dashboard development.

But we have a little bit of problem on calculating AMC and MNC in client side. We have overcome this constraint by exporting data and calculating it in the server side and showing dashboard.

For logistics calculation, I have developed a middle ware application named “DHIS2 MiddleWare Application”. Features of this apps:

  1. Exporting all dataset values of a specific dataset or all dataset.
  2. Exporting all Organization Units/ Datasets/ Dataset elements group/ Dataset elements.
  3. All kinds of Logistics calculations like AMC, MNC, Stock etc.
  4. Raw data analysis and data presentation both tabular and graphical
  5. Lots of Reports like:
    a. National Stock Status of Priority MNCH Medicines
    b. Consumption History of Priorty MNCH Medicines
    c. Stockout Status By Facilities
    d. Medicines Availability By Facility
    e. Stock Status at Different Levels
    f. Non Reported Facilitates
    g. Timeliness Status By Health Facility
    h. Data Upload Statistics
    i. Health Facility’s Performance
    j. Percent of Facilitie’s that have All Medicines
  6. Calculated data pushing in DHIS2 specific dataset and generate dashboard
  7. Modules of this apps:
    a. System Admin Management
    b. Organization/Facility Managemment
    c. Data Management
    d. Medicine Management
    e. Complain Management
    f. Entered Data Analysis(Reports)
    g. Dashboard
  8. Easy plug in with other software.

Technology:

In version-1: I have used PHP Laravel Framework and PostGreSQL Database
In version-2: Java and PostgreSQl database(Under Development)

Here I have attached DHIS2 LMIS Data Entry Screen and “DHIS2 MiddleWare Application” layout. You may visit our dashboard that generated by this application: http://69.39.239.111/~scipmp/index.php/elmis-dashboard

If you need any kind of support or suggestion about LMIS implementation in DHIS2 please let me know.

Dear All,

Hope every one is doing fine. You know that we are capturing eLMIS(Electronic Logistics Management Information System) data by using DHIS2 and our external web portal/dashboard is displaying last 12 months logistics data. We have designed the UI by matching with DHIS2 UI so that it seems to our users that is the same platform.

Hi bro,

Thank you so much for what you did it. I am just wondering if there is away to analysis the consumption report which have been uploaded them to DHIS with the morbidity data… is this possible to have this analysis as visual dashboard or something like that?

Hello Brother,

Yes, it is possible. Please email your detailed requirements to info@jaetech.co.

Thank you
