Dear Pramil,
This is not possible in the current 2.25 and a good feature especially if you can locate and identify the structure or building or the tracked entity. You can go ahead and suggest it as a new feature through https://jira.dhis2.org
Currently you can search for only geo-plotted locations as below

Thanks prosper for the reply. Actually, it was available in 2.24 and users were used to that. Thus, it is not a new feature to suggest. As you said, it was very useful because lot of important places were marked in it, so it was easy to pick the location of the patient. I’m not sure why it is removed.
Comments from developers appreciated.

Hi,
Yes, we shifted to leaflet + OSM in 2.25. The issue is Google Maps does not play nice with leaflet and Mapzen search api that we use to search for locations.

Thanks Abyot. For our system, Google maps was very helpful as it had many local places marked. Never needed the search function. Anyway, any plans to allow users to select the background map when capturing in future versions? Or is it possible to do a code level modification for us to achieve it?

Pramil
