usage of "light" web module

Hi all,

the “light” web module for data entry, typically used by low-end mobile phones, is aging. We are interested in learning to what extent this module is being used to understand whether we should invest in developing a new version of it. If you are using the module, or aware of anyone using it, please let us know either here on the list or directly to me.

This is the module being referred to: https://play.dhis2.org/2.29/light/index.action

best regards,

Lars

Bringing the usage of “light” module to people’s attention again. I have only received one message on this topic which says it is not used. Does this mean that we can remove this module from DHIS 2? Any reasons not to remove it out there?

regards,

Lars

Hi

I cannot recall having encountered any use of this the last few years. Suggest removing it from 2.30, but keep a functional “backup” just in case… If nobody yells within the first 2 months, then dump it

Okay thanks Calle for the feedback.

We will do that then - remove light module in 2.30. If there are popular use-cases for web-based feature phone data entry we will build a new app using a modern web framework.

Lars

My god I am so much afraid and worried about why peoples have so much obligations on DHIS 2.28 DHIS 2.29 DHIS 2.30 perhaps I belive these are the three revisions which should be good to address most of the illusions.
