Unable to create parent org unit in 2.23

Hi everyone

I am having a slight problem in the new maintenance app. If I am trying to build an org unit hierarchy from scratch through the UI, it seems the level 1 org unit won’t display. When I check the actual database, it exists, but it does not appear on the user interface within the application. I am using 2.23 build 22894

Here are the steps:

  1. Create blank instance

  2. Start it up

  3. Go to maintenance - > org units

  4. Click on add

  5. Enter details and Save

It does not appear on either the left hand side menu or within the long list on the right hand side.

In demo, I can add org units as children still no problem.

Any ideas, am I simply missing something?

Hi,
I’m experiencing the same issue. A fresh 2.23 install. Log says that orgunit has been created. I restarted the dhis2 server and cleared cache.

I then checked user’s role: admin is Superuser.

Still on the user’s info, under “Data capture and maintenance organisation units” as well as “Data output and analysis organisation units”, the top organisation unit displays there.

When selecting Organisation Unit Group submenu, I have this message on the “select” area: “0 Organisation units selected ** no_roots_found**”

Kind regards,

Kader

Dear Kader and Shurajit,

I suggest to create the level of the Organization unit. If the root OU is Country, its level is 1.

Hope this helps.

Henri

Thank you Henri. This has been done as well on my side when creating the root orgunit.

Digging further, on postgresql:

select uid, code, created, name, shortname, parentid, hierarchylevel, openingdate from organisationunit;

displays my root organisation unit (no value for parentid column).

I’ve been able to insert a new organisation unit with sql having the root uid as parentid as well. But on the maintenance interface, they are not visible.

Is there anything else we can check ?

Kind regards

Kader
