Trouble creating org.units hierarchy

Dear all,

I´m trying to build a new hierarchy in an empty db but the system is not behaving as I expected.

It works fine for the first and second level, but it seems to fail when I add the 3rd one. Insted of adding the org unit under level 2, it is placed in level 1…

To create org units I select the parent in the left panel and then add new. Any suggestion of what am I missing?

PFA screenshot: Notice that level 2 is selected in the hierarchy (left panel) and level 1 appears as a child.

Strange - could you perhaps just quickly try to move the new one (using the last option, Hierarchy Operations) and see if it moves to the right place? (not a good solution of course)

I don’t think this should be related to caching, but since that is often the case with the orgunits, could you also try in the Chrome incognito window? I’ve also seen sometimes that it looks as an OU is selected in the tree even though it actually isn’t, so you could try deselecting and reselecting.

It goes to the right place, but still level 1 appears and child of level 2,
and new org units are created in level 2.

wow... is behaving perfectly in the incognito window... and still wrong in
normal window (after clearing cache) ... how can I avoid this happening
again working in a normal window??

It surprises me that this feature does not work with you … You can organizational units in the same level and move to the displacement with the last option on the left-hand paddle

Hi Marta,

We have observed this bug in Zambia as well. I personally have never been able to reproduce it, except by simulating a connecting with very large large latency. However, our DHIS2 system adminis have been affected by it numerous times.

I think the devs added a feature to warn the user if they were about to add a new orgunit at level 1, if one already exists. Not sure if this has been added yet, but if so, it is probably only in trunk.

Regards,
Jason

Ok, so it is definitely caching related.

Fixing it with the OU tree is sometimes quite tricky - you should try also restarting the browser, and clearing cookies also, not just the cache.

Hi Marta,

we actually fixed a bug related to org units this morning. Could you please try to upgrade to latest 2.12 stable from dhis2.org/downloads, clear cache and try again?

regards,

Lars

It looks good now… although I also cleared the cache… cookies… and everything I found in my way, before you told me to try this.

Anyway… I´m sure is fixed now, if not… I´ll will let you know if I find something similar again
