TRAINING END USERS OF THE ELECTRONIC CHILDREN’S REGISTRATION PLATFORM

TRAINING END USERS OF THE ELECTRONIC CHILDREN’S REGISTRATION PLATFORM

The training took place between April 15 and 24, in the district of Marracuene, in Maputo province, in an initiative led by MISAU in partnership with VillageReach and with the support of SAUDIGITUS, with the aim of training a total of 180 health professionals in the use of the Electronic Child Registration (ECR) platform. The training participants represented various health sectors, namely the Expanded Vaccination Program, Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition.

ECR is a technological solution based on DHIS2, developed to simplify the process of collecting and analyzing data relating to the consultation of the healthy child, consultation of the child at risk, consultation of the sick child and vaccination. Data entry is carried out using mobile devices configured to collect individual data, making it possible to monitor and follow up cases of absence or dropout.

The training integrated a practical and theoretical component, giving participants the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during the training sessions. To this end, seven health facilities in Maputo province were selected, where the trainees worked with real cases to assess their understanding of the content.

At the end, with the support of the Mozambican Health Committee, which is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the ECR, an evaluation process was carried out. Next steps include the official launch of the platform and its implementation.
