Hi Everyone,

Two weeks ago we had a session on LXD & Container Basics, where we touched on approaches for exposing services running inside LXD containers — though we ran out of time before covering everything.

Today I’ll be wrapping up that session with a summary and a quick demo, focusing on why this matters for our DHIS2 architecture.

Specifically we’ll cover:

  • LXD network forwarding and LXD proxy devices — how to map a real IP address directly to a container IP address
  • Why this approach is important when running a component outside the LXD network and you want to avoid NAT masquerade
