Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well.
Tomorrow, we’ll be exploring one of the most important aspects of backups — the Retention Policy.
Storage is one of the most limited resources on our servers, so it’s essential to ensure it doesn’t get filled up with old backups while still maintaining a reliable recovery window. A well-designed retention policy helps achieve this balance — for example, keeping Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR) data for the past three months.
We’ll also discuss how to replicate and apply the same policy when syncing backups to remote locations.
- There will be a demo on policy configuration using ➜ s3cmd setpolicy
See you there!
