Section forms, Custom forms and Default forms

Is this still possible to view the different categories of form in Data Entry, because i can not see the option for changing between the Custom, default or section forms?

The other thing is that Under Section 2.2.2 Entering data in the End User Manual, which we are customizing for the Uganda DHIS2 end user training, It talks about being able to minimise and maximise section data. However, this ssems to be no longer possible. Can we remove it from the manual, or there is something we are missing?

Hide/show section data: When using section forms it is possible to minimise and maximise sections by clicking on the section headers.

Sam

Hi Sam,

The option to switch between form types has been removed. It would be great if you could update the manual, not just for Uganda, but commit to the global repository.

Thanks,

Knut

That’s fine then, we will keep a record of the changes we are making then commit them to the global repository afterwords.

Thanks.

Hi Sam,
I just made a few changes to the main user manual based on your observations.

I am curious how you are keeping track of the changes to your local
manual. Are you using source control as we do for the main manual?

Jason

Hi Sam,

The global repository uses the DocBook format as the main format for
the manual. It would not really be possible to merge your changes
automatically from a word file into this, although it is good to have
a record of it which would make things easier.

FYI, an RTF file is produced as part of the global documentation,
specifically for the purpose or making it easier to make changes to a
local manual. It is available here [1]. So, you could have skipped the
step of exporting from PDF.

Although the recommended way (at least from me) would be to use the
DocBook format to make changes which may be required for local
adaptations of the manual. There is of course a bit of a learning
curve, and thus my curiosity as to what method you were using. We have
known from the beginning that the use of DocBook, version control
systems, and other relatively unfamiliar tools may not be so
comfortable, but I was just wondering if you had read the
documentation guide [2] which describes how the documentation systems
works, and provides some pointers as to how it can be easily adapted
for local needs.

Anyway, it is good to hear you are modifying the manual for your
purposes, it is just interesting to know how it is being done in
different places.

Best regards,
Jason

Hi Jason,
No i am not using source control. I am using the 'Track Changes' option in
Ms Word.

The initial idea was to have a manual with screen shots of the Uganda DHIS
system and not Kenya as it currently is. So I saved the PDF version of the
manual as a word document (.rtf). it is after Knut mentioned committing to
the global repository that i considered using the track changes.

One other thing I am realizing is that some screenshots might have to
change.

Sam.
