Hello my name is Sanjeev Mansotra, I recently started using DHIS2. Confused how it can help me, please help to solve my query!
How can I design and implement a DHIS2-based Education Management Information System (EMIS) that tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) such as student enrollment, attendance rates, dropout rates, teacher performance, and infrastructure utilization across multiple schools in a region, ensuring data interoperability with existing national education databases while maintaining data security and privacy for sensitive student information?
Welcome to the community! Thank you for sharing about your use case. To implement a DHIS2 system there are a lot of steps to take and things to consider.
While the community is here for you every step of the way, it will be very important to take a learning path to learn more about how the system and configurations work. Please have a look at the interactive in Learning Paths - DHIS2 to get a better idea.
Have you checked out any demo or heard about a DHIS2 EMIS implementation? I’m curious to hear what interests you the most in starting this using DHIS2?
Additionally, there are many before you who asked similar questions, so I believe I will quote them here:

Hi Sanjeev! Thanks for reaching out and indeed welcome to the community! Your query is wide ranging but we do have some documentation that you can review to get you started.
We would also be very happy to discuss your query in more detail over email and potentially over a call - specifically with the HISP network who have in depth experience in working with ministries of education with both aggregate and individual learner and staff record management and data use.
As a first step, @Gassim has kindly shared some good resources. You can also review our education microsite, specifically having a look at the DHIS2 student-staff-school application: SEMIS: A holistic solution for student, staff and school management – DHIS2 | Education You’ll find release notes at the bottom of the page.
Do reach out to us at emis@dhis2.org so that we can understand a bit more about your use case - for e.g. country context, level of decentralization, number of schools / overall scope.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thank you for resolving my query!
You’re welcome! Have you found anything interesting in particular? Any feedback or notes you’d like to share?
Thanks!
Hi @sanjeevmansotra DHIS2 features a fully web-based pivot table which lets you analyze data along all data dimensions and arrange these on columns, rows and as filters at demand . You can include totals and subtotals and remove empty rows, and control display density, font size and digit group separator.
