Recognition of Service

Dear D2 Family,

For nearly two decades, I have worked to promote, implement, and sustain DHIS2 across 13 countries in Africa, South America, and Europe — including crisis-affected settings such as Ukraine and South Sudan. This work has extended across Anglophone, Francophone, Lusophone, and Hispanophone contexts.

What makes this journey unique is that it has been done without any formal affiliation to UiO or financial/technical support — much of it offered pro bono, particularly now, as donor support is scaling back and national systems are left at risk.

Through Tuma Technologies, my team and I remain committed to keeping DHIS2 systems functional and sustainable by building local capacity and mentoring national teams.

In light of this ongoing, independent contribution, I believe it will be motivating to see such efforts — mine and those of many others working behind the scenes — are formally recognized by the either UiO or any leading department.

Warm regards,
Immanuel Antonius

Hi @Don_Vieira,

Your work and that of others that are able to apply DHIS2 to new contexts and geographies independently is what makes the DHIS2 community an awesome thing. Thank you for your work!

Your post is timely. We are starting a new partnership program with DHIS2 implementing organization that I think will give you the recognition that you seek. Please reach out to me at scott@dhis2.org and let’s get a conversation scheduled for this week to get the ball rolling.

Hi @Scott

Thank you for the encouraging message. I’m glad to contribute to a community that continues to grow and innovate globally.

The new partnership program sounds like a great opportunity. I’ll reach out to you shortly via email to schedule a time for us to connect this week.

Best regards,
Immanuel
