Pull Request Approval

I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I have a question about submitting pull requests for the core project.

I submitted a pull request for a small change last Thursday. Since I am a first time contributor, it says that it needs to be approved by a maintainer before the workflow will even process it (First-time contributors need a maintainer to approve running workflows). How often do maintainers look for these requests? Do I need to notify someone?
