I have worked with dhis 1.4 for the last 3 years at Family Health International and I am keenly interested in the use of the web based software for data management purposes. I am trying to install it on my system and feel I need to join to keep myself up to date with the development/perfection of this great software.
Welcome to the list!
I am also trying to install the dhis on ubuntu and I am having problem connecting to the branch; dhis2 using the command; bzr branch lp:dhis2. I am getting an error as try to connect to this dhis branch and I feel becoming a member will help.
Very happy to see you’re using Ubuntu, it is the preferred platform for many of us. Given the dominance of Windows, most efforts on easy installation such as DHIS Live and the new installer (http://97.107.142.53/files/DHIS2-Install.exe) are Windows focused, but we very much want to support Linux (and Mac).
Here is how I set up my Ubuntu server, using just the command line:
Hi Knut; Thanks for you email, it worked perfectly.
I am following your documentation on setting up dhis 2 in ubuntu, however I haven’t been able to get postgresql working. Could I get clear assistance on how to start my server. I have a domain with bluehost ,com is there a way I can link my database to my domain.
When I type in local hot8080…in the browser; I get a page congratulating me on installing tomcat but I can see the dhis website. My installation must be wrong, pls help.

As Lars recommends, I think DHIS Live could work well for you on Ubuntu. It is possible to check out the latest source code and build a new dhis.war file, which you can then use to replace the one that comes with the DHIS Live download.

Hi,
DHIS Live runs fine on both Windows and Linux. Its the recommended package for testing and getting to know the system.
Thanks for your help so far. I seem to be doing quite fine with the installation. Could you please enlighten me about migration from dhis1.4 to 2.0..What document do I need to go through? Thanks
Hi, under import-export there is an option for import from 1. 4
