Ngnix Failed

Dear Bob,
I am still having issue with the dhis2-tool. After replacing the file
/etc/nginx/sites-enabled/dhis2
with the link you provided nginx failed to start:

wget https://github.com/dhis2/dhis2-tools/blob/master/dhis2-tools/dhis2-tools/usr/share/dhis2-tools/samples/nginx/dhis2

Kindly note that i replaced all dhis with hmis on
/etc/nginx/nginx.conf file but i am still having issues.

Please i need help. This is the only procedure I had NOT successfully
create an instance on.

Hi Gerald

You should not touch /etc/nginx/nginx.conf at all. All customisation
is done under sites-enabled.

If your nginx is failing to start the chances are that
/var/log/nginx/error.log will tell you what the problem is.

Bob

If it’s config related, it can also be good to run “nginx -t” which will test the config and return any errors it can see

Hi Gerald

What I’m guessing has happened here is that you have download the dhis2 nginx config embedded in github (you can see the doctype there)

Hi Gerald

The link is correct, but as Morten says it links to the html page
which contains the config file. Go with your browser and you will
see. What you need is the raw file as per Morten's link.

Dear Morten & Bob,
Thanks for your help. I had finally successfully install DHIS2 using
the dhis2-tool.

Morten & Bob,
This is the beginning of a long journey: Our Malaria control program
is running DHIS2 version 2.5 and i will like to upgrade it to version
2.22; then export these information to our National server.
Can i have technical advice on how to achieve this task successfully?
Secondly i want to send the logview to see if there are any errors or
limitation of resource to achieve my goal.

Hi Gerald

That's a bigger chunk of upgrade than most of us would have experience
of. The folk I know who come relatively close to having done this are
in HISP India. Perhaps one of them will reach out with advice.

Cheers
