New version of the Modeling app and chap (v3.0.0/v1.1.0)

We are pleased to release a new version of chap-core (v1.1.0) together with a new version of the Modeling App (v3.0.0). This joint update includes numerous bug fixes, performance improvements, and new functionality developed over the past five months. Note that chap-core and the Modeling app are both still in beta. They are both under active development, and the included models may give bad predictions. We are happy for any feedback and suggestions for new functionality or improvements.

A complete list of changes is available on the release pages on GitHub:

Highlights:

  • An improved user interface in the Modeling App — including a new evaluation dashboard, redesigned model configuration page, a new system for evaluation plots, redesigned predictions page and many other functional enhancements.

  • New CHAP-Core features for modelers, such as a flexible system for defining evaluation metrics.

  • General improvements to code stability and performance: code cleanup, expanded test coverage, faster test execution, Docker optimizations, refactoring, and improved database migration setup.

Note:
Both the Modeling App (frontend) and CHAP-Core (backend) must be updated for any of them to work with the new versions:

  • The Modeling App can be updated directly through DHIS2.

  • For CHAP-Core, please read and follow the upgrade guide carefully.

If there are any issues while updating, please either post an issue on Github (https://github.com/dhis2-chap/chap-core/issues/), make a post on CoP (https://community.dhis2.org/c/development/chap/84) or email us at chap@dhis2.org.
