New additions to WHO DHIS2 Health Data Toolkit

We are pleased to announce the release of new metadata packages as part of the WHO DHIS2 Health Data Toolkit. All metadata packages can be downloaded from our new site: dhis2.org/who-package-downloads and documentation is maintained on docs.dhis2.org. Each package contains installable metadata .json files, metadata reference sheets, system design documentation and an integrated demo database for interacting with the package.

IDSR Aggregate Health Facility Data & Analysis Package: The integrated disease surveillance & response (IDSR) package supports weekly reporting and analysis of 15 commonly notifiable diseases. Many countries already use DHIS2 for weekly IDSR reporting & analysis; this package can be installed and mapped to existing national databases to help standardize indicators and analysis. This package also supports electronic data exchange from HMIS systems of AFRO member states to a regional AFRO Surveillance Platform based in DHIS2.

Download the IDSR package and read the IDSR system design document.

TB Case Surveillance Tracker Package: The tracker-based TB case surveillance package supports longitudinal data collection and automated analysis of standard WHO case surveillance indicators for drug susceptible and drug resistant tuberculosis, including clinical diagnosis, laboratory testing, treatment and outcomes. The package is designed to support decentralized data flows with the inclusion of laboratory-specific user groups and accommodates 14 types of diagnostic tests that can be easily customized (switched on/off) according to national context. This package is WHO-approved for meeting the standards described in the WHO Global TB Programme Definitions and reporting framework for tuberculosis (2013)

Download the package and read the TB case surveillance system design guide to learn more.

RMNCAH Aggregate Health Facility Data & Analysis Package: This package contains standard data elements, indicators and dashboards to support the WHO Analysis & Use of Health Facility Data Guide for Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) program managers.

Download the package and read the RMNCAH system design document to learn more.

New demo sites
All aggregate package demos are available in an integrated demo site to simulate an integrated in-country HMIS: who-demos.dhis2.org/demo

All tracker package demos are available in an integrated demo site to simulate enrollment of individuals (TEIs) across multiple tracker programs: who-demos.dhis2.org/tracker_demo

Please post in our WHO Packages Category in the COP if you plan to adopt one of these packages. We look forward to learning from country implementations to inform our global health data products in the WHO DHIS2 toolkit.
