Hi,
I am facing an issue regarding the Nepali calendar in DHIS2. In the web application, the Nepali calendar is fully functional and I can select dates as expected. However, in the official DHIS2 Android app, I still see the default Gregorian calendar whenever I try to enter data for a specific period.
Due to this, the data sync between the web app and the Android app does not work properly because the date periods do not match.
My questions are:
Has the Nepali calendar been added to the official DHIS2 Android app yet?
If it is available, what is the correct way to enable it in the Android app?
The android app only supports the gregorian calendar right now sorry.
It is not in the roadmap for now but we will study when and how we could add it if it is useful for the users.
Since we follow the Nepali calendar for all our DHIS2 related work, it would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know whether there are any available approaches, possibilities, or a roadmap that would allow me to work on this myself. At the moment, it is a bit challenging to manage when the web version uses the Nepali calendar while the Android app follows a different calendar.
Your feedback or guidance on this would be highly appreciated.
Sorry I missed your post earlier. As @Pablo mentioned, till now Nepali calender doesnot support on android. Additionally, implementing the Nepali calendar itself is a challenge at the system level due to its complexity
To address this, we at Aamako Maya have already implemented and tested a custom Android Capture app with Nepali (BS) calendar support, aligned with the DHIS2 data capture architecture.
If this is useful for your implementation, feel free to reach out and we can share our experience.
Thank you for your response. It’s great to know that Aamako Maya has already implemented and tested a custom Android Capture app with Nepali (BS) calendar support aligned with DHIS2. This is very helpful for my implementation. I’ll make sure to learn from your experience.
