Metadata Import Successful but Data Not Visible in DHIS2 Demo

Hello DHIS2 Community,

I recently imported metadata into the DHIS2 demo instance (Login app | DHIS2) , and the process was marked as successful. However, when I checked the system, the imported data does not appear. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Steps Taken:

  1. Verified Data Visibility – Checked relevant apps (Tracker Capture, Data Entry, Maintenance) but the imported data is missing.
  2. Checked User Permissions – The user account has metadata import rights, but could there be additional permissions needed?
  3. Reviewed Import Logs – The logs show a successful import, but no warnings or errors were present.
  4. Checked Metadata Dependencies – Ensured that related objects (data elements, org units, etc.) exist before importing.
  5. Tried the Bulk Load App – Even though the app processed the import successfully, the data does not show up.

Questions for the Community:

  • Has anyone faced a similar issue when importing metadata into DHIS2?
  • Are there specific configurations required to make imported metadata visible?
  • Could this be related to caching issues or system synchronization delays?

Any guidance or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like a caching issue or metadata sync delay.

Try clearing the browser cache and running Data Administration β†’ Maintenance in DHIS2.

check if the metadata appears in the API (/api/metadata).

If the issue persists, verify the user role settings for metadata visibility.
