Kobo and dhis2 integration using Apache NiFi
Integrating Kobo and DHIS2 offers significant advantages for organizations needing robust field data collection and analysis. Kobo (KoboToolbox) is a mobile data collection platform, simplifies survey creation and deployment. DHIS2, a comprehensive health information system, provides powerful data management and analysis tools. Seamless integration between these platforms streamlines the data pipeline, enhancing program performance and decision-making. However, achieving this integration often requires a robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solution. This presentation will explore how Apache NiFi, an open-source data flow management platform, can be leveraged to effectively bridge the gap between Kobo and DHIS2. We will go deeper into the technical aspects of building a NiFi flow to handle data extraction from Kobo, transformation into the DHIS2 data format, and loading into the DHIS2 instance. The presentation will showcase the benefits of using NiFi for this integration, including its ability to handle various data formats, perform data validation and enrichment, and manage data flow reliably. Also our key learnings will be shared with the audience. Real-world examples of this integration using NiFi will illustrate its practical applications and demonstrate how it can improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and enable timely data-driven insights.
