This is a great forum @maxk. @Prosper is giving cool insights on events vs tracker programs before the real work begins! Participants are also inquiring about the new features in Version 2.33 that will solve most of their challenges.

Hi, thanks Eric for good presentation. I have a question on a list of 1000 options, how can i set 1 option to be selected by defaut value, which may be changed or not by the data entry staff. @prosper and @maxk

Hi @Amza

As discussed further with you, there is no functionality for setting default values in entry, the most near to that would be program rules that could assign values, but again assigned data elements or attributes are not editable in case you want to change the value. This sounds a good use case for a jira issue.

As shared by @maxk best for now would be to create a data element or attribute that would allow you to condition the next selection. e.g First ask if Citizen (Yes/No) it No then call for the next field to choose the other citizenship in another data element or attribute.

Regards and keep sharing

I am following up with the developers about the comments and requests you brought up during this Academy–several of these are already on the development roadmap.

One bug that was mentioned was that the “hide values” option was not working for pie charts. Can someone reproduce that bug and submit it on Jira? @prosper is this something you have experienced?
