Job Opportunity: DHIS2 Implementers for Global Health Content & Standards team

The Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) at University of Oslo is hiring for two DHIS2 Implementer positions on our Global Health Content & Standards team. These are full-time contract positions, with the option to work remotely or in Oslo, Norway.

HISP is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre, and works directly with global donors, ministries of health and NGOs to produce global goods addressing health information system needs in low- and middle-income countries. This work includes promoting global metadata standards and best design practices through the WHO-DHIS2 Health Data Toolkit. This toolkit includes standard configuration/metadata packages for DHIS2 based on global guidance developed in close partnership with content experts at the WHO, UNICEF and CDC. DHIS2 Implementer (Technical)
The DHIS2 Technical Implementer will join the Global Health Content & Standards team at HISP UiO, focusing on a portfolio of work that includes extensive requirements gathering with international content partners, configuring DHIS2 – aggregate, event and tracker – according to international standards set with content partners, and providing technical support to countries adopting these standards into their national HIS. This implementer position will play a strong hands-on role in the configuration DHIS2 to meet the requirements of global content experts. The position will also contribute to the creation and updating of supporting material including implementation guidance, end user training templates, system design guides, training databases, etc. HISP has a long tradition of learning through country implementation and local innovation to improve our global public goods. This position is expected to work with and through the regional HISP network to support country implementation and facilitate learning & feedback loops.

DHIS2 Implementer (Health Content)
The DHIS2 Health Content Implementer will join the Global Health Content & Standards team at HISP UiO, focusing on a portfolio of work that includes extensive requirements gathering with international content partners, configuring DHIS2 – aggregate, event and tracker – according to international standards set with content partners, and providing technical support to countries adopting these standards into their national HIS. This implementer position will play a critical role in supporting the translation of health content requirements into DHIS2 system design; thus the role requires significant knowledge about both public health programming and DHIS2. This position will play a strong role in guiding content experts/partners like WHO and UNICEF through content requirements gathering activities and package development processes that are essential for developing digital health data toolkits for DHIS2. The implementer will contribute to system design discussions and documentation with an eye toward ensuring DHIS2 design is being considered to meet public health program needs and the realities of field implementation in low-resource environments. HISP has a long tradition of learning through country implementation and local innovation to improve our global public goods. This position is expected to work with and through the regional HISP network to support country implementation with a focus on use of the digital health data packages and facilitating learning about data use.
