Issues with DHIS live

Hello,

I am trying to import data from DHIS 1.4 into the H2 database that comes with dhis live package, the system however hangs each time I invoke the import process (attached is the log file). I am using version 2.8, the webpage didnt load at all when i tried using version 2.9. Can anyone help please?

I am using windows vista home edition, 64-bit OS.

Hi Chris

Not answering your question, but I am not sure I would use H2 database
for anything but demo purposes. It is convenient but use postgres if
you can (it also works fine with live edition).

I think Jason and Lars have more experience than me with importing
dhis14 files. Jason is travelling but I will see him tomorrow and
ask.

I am assuming your log file stops there? There is no more information
past importing metadata message?

Not traveling yet but soon.

Most important is to resolve all metadata data integrity violations in 1.4 and and I agree with Bob, do not use H2 for this.

We will try and provide more feedback tomorrow.

Hello Bob and Jason,

Thank you for your reply. I was testing hence the H2 database, I will try on postgres. Yes, that was where the log file stopped but I have attached output from starting the application from the command promp which seems to give more information.

This has to do with your JAVA_OPTS and will not be solved by moving to 2.9. Please see the server setup section in the implementation manual and refer to the archives of this list where this issue has been discussed several times.

Jason, if Chris is running dhis-live on his laptop the server guide
won't be much good to him. I would have to go back through the dhis
live setup. its well over a year since I looked at it now but I
recall there was some difficulty with environment variables.

Yes, you are right of course Bob. Having imported the Nigeria Master file myself several times, it is rather intensive process and doubtful if it will work at all with the live setup unless more RAM can be allocated somehow. Chris, I would just go ahead and install DHIS2 with Apache Tomcat. It will likely be easier to follow the advice provided in the manuals.

Chris, just create a JAVA_OPTS environment variable in Windows and

google " JAVA_OPTS dhis2" for suggested values.
