Is there a need to set up DHIS2 on our laptop for practice

I have completed the introductory course on DHIS2, and I’m on the second course about Aggregate data entry, and up till now we haven’t been told to install dhis2 in our laptop. If I want to have a raw live view of the app, how can I get a link to installing and configuring it.

Is it not needed? Is the dhis2 instance generated enough. I do want to install and have a feel of the app on my laptop

Hi @datadok

If this is for practice or exploration purposes, you can follow the guide below for a local setup,

or visit

If you’re looking to develop or implement DHIS2, please refer to the developer or implementation guide.

Thank you for your response

As I proceed into the course, I have now realized that there’s enough opportunity to practice working on the DHIS2 app using the demo site or the Trainingland set up in Aggregate data capture course. There might not be need to go through the hassle of setting up a desktop version, only that these two opportunities provided for practise will require data. But I will go with them while still on the course until I see the more need to set up the desktop version future. I don’t know if there will be need for that in future though.
