Hi, I’m Sam. I’m based in Bristol (UK) and work with a number of different organisations on HMIS and DHIS2 projects, including national HMIS implementations in Southern and West Africa.
Although my main role is usually assessing, planning and/or strengthening national or NGO roll-outs, I still do quite a bit of technical work on Tracker and aggregate DHIS2 systems. I work in English, French and Portuguese.
I’m particularly interested in data quality approaches/tools/best practice, and in how to strengthen the use of data by frontline staff. I’m also fascinated by machine learning and its potential, but am still just at the dabbling stage with that one…

I am Karoline, I am a DHIS2 Project Coordinator at University of Oslo.
I coordinate and manage HISP projects, mainly around malaria elimination and disease surveillance. I am part of the UiO CoP team and follow up the Case-Based Surveillance Community in particular.
I’m Pamod from HISP Sri Lanka. I’m based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I serve as an implementer and a trainer in DHIS2 in Sri Lanka and several countries in the region. I’m from a background of medical, public health as well as informatics.

Hi @lbjawara! Great to hear your interest in disease surveillance and malaria elimination. UiO is currently involved in a malaria elimination project funded by CHAI so there is a lot of great functionality coming up for malaria elimination purposes. I am Stephen M. Gbanyan, Jr currently living in Liberia. I am the Director of Health Information Systems. I got involved in DHIS2 in 2010 when Liberia decided to find a system to replace DHIS1.4. Our implementations for DHIS2 has started triggering down to the District level. I love traveling and meeting new friends and also learning from other countries on DHIS2 implementations.
My Name is Kanema Chiyenu and I am based in Zambia. I am currently working for a Health NGO called (CIDRZ) - centre for infectious disease research in zambia. as a Startegic Information officer. I got involved with DHIS2 whilst looking for the best tool for building a data warehouse for the organisations data. currently we have built an Iformation system that is used to report on facility data in all our PEPFAR indicator and research project.

I am Scott Russpatrick. I am the Analytics and Data Quality Product Manager based at UiO. That means that I manage the roadmap for feature development and bug fixes for these apps: dashboards, data visualizer, maps, pivot tables, event reports, event visualizer, and validation rules. If you need something new in those apps, have a question, or have a bug please feel free to let me know. I also love to hear about how you are using the apps and how they are helping your organization or country use data for decision making.
I also do a lot of work on community health information systems and logistic management information systems, so if you have thoughts or questions on those, I’m happy to chat.
Fun fact: my favorite hobbies are building and flying model airplanes, knitting, and brewing beer. Would love to talk about those too!

My name is Eileen Reynolds, I work for RTI International and am based in North Carolina, U.S.A. I have worked in many countries including Guinea, Zimbabwe, the Philippines, Zambia, Rwanda, Indonesia, Benin, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Senegal. I first got involved with DHIS 2 with a project to strengthen health information systems in Zimbabwe where the Ministry of Health had just adopted DHIS 1.4. I was able to experience some of the challenges faced when working with that version. Later, in 2015, I began working on a Global Health Security Project in Guinea where our role was to work with the MOH to strengthen disease surveillance and we worked with other partners to help them implement DHIS 2 for both routine and disease surveillance data. Currently Guinea uses DHIS 2 for routine and aggregate weekly disease surveillance reports and is preparing to roll out the use of the Tracker to report individual cases. I work with an excellent team of local professionals who have become DHIS 2 experts over the course of the project. I’m especially interested in data analysis and use aspects and how DHIS 2 can help strengthen the use of data for disease surveillance.

Hello, all. I’m Gillian Kerr, an organizational psychologist from Toronto, Canada, and I’m on the Board of a Canadian nonprofit called LogicalOutcomes. We implement DHIS2 projects for NGOs, provide online training, and develop various open source tools for M&E.
My own focus this year is to improve the way we manage metadata so that we can decrease the costs of implementing DHIS2 and improve interoperability between regions and sectors. We’re looking for collaborators and partners, so please contact me if you are interested in developing metadata tools, including taxonomies (AidData, IATI, BioPortal, SDGs etc.), metadata standards (ISO 11179, FHIR, etc.) and software (Aristotle MetaData Registry, CEDAR metadata management) and so on. If enough people are interested in this topic we could set up a subgroup in the DHIS2 Community of Practice.
I’m also leading the development of an M&E ‘software as a service’ based on DHIS2 so that NGOs can subscribe to a monthly service for smaller evaluation projects rather than implementing an entire DHIS2 project.
My name is Stian and I am the team leader for the DHIS2 backend team. I was introduced to and started working with DHIS2 during my studies at the University of Oslo, and have been for the last 3 years.
My work touches on a lot of different parts of the DHIS2 backend, but mainly work on Tracker, Metadata and general features. I have mostly been involved with the Disease Surveillance and Malaria elimination projects.
