I’d like to call this a bug, but I wanted to be sure that this is not “Expected” behavior for Indicators with period offset. It looks like when I have periods set as Rows, the offset works correctly. When (most times) I shift the indicators to Columns in a Pivot Table, however, the indicator offset seems to not respect the offset. Quick video describing this below.
What I’m curious about is if the Indicator offset is actually non-specific to Periods, and if it will pull the “previous” value from whatever is in a particular format, or if it is always relevant to time and should respect whatever previous time is selected regardless of the pivot formats.
In the video: On the left, the numbers are the same (original Data Element, and Indicator with Data Element + Data Element offset by 1 + Data Element offset by 2 all divided by 3. When I shift the Periods, the calculation is “respected” and the climate data gets smoothed out as we’d expect/hope.
@jan I did (just) update Data Visualizer on another instance and am able to reproduce the same effect of the period offset performing some but not all times, with the same parts of rows/columns
@Matthew_Boddie It would be very helpful if you could reproduce the issue on our 41 demo instance: Login app | DHIS2 Then I’ll have a closer look at it.
The key that I wasn’t understanding prior was that you also have to have >1 non consecutive organisationUnits selected in the data visualizer for it to break the indicator.
Doesn’t Work:
