Hello Mohamed,
You should use the format YYYY-MM-dd , for instance 1994-05-27.

I guess a workaround wold be to have two additional data elements, one for hour and one for minutes. These could be numerical and with some scripting I imagine it would be possible to get analytics out of them.
Eventually in version .28 you could create some script to programmatically create a proper date/time by extracting the values of these data elements and populating a date/time data element.
Does this sound reasonable?
