Hi Community,
I am from MSF OCA and we are gone to implement the Android Capture App to collect and analyze data through mobile devices in emergency context. We have a question that is there a way that data stored on mobile devices (locally) removed automatically in some defined interval.
As of right now there is no other way of deleting local data in the capture app other than manually through the settings menu.
I have asked and there is also nothing planned in the near future in the road map. So, if it is something you believe would be really important for your implementation you can open an issue to request it through Jira so that it can be evaluated.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!
We have implemented a tracker application that collects patient-level data which contains Patient Identifiers, however, we would like the local data cleared after synchronization. That is we should not retain records on the device after the syn has happened. I have checked the Android Settings application, which does not have that feature. Is there a different approach where we can set the time period to retain the data? Deleting the local data manually is not an option since data collection is happening in remote areas
Hi @kamiru this was asked by another user recently in the community here
As I mention in that thread, the android capture app currently does not support remote or automatic local data deletion other than manually. If this is a functionality you think is really important for your implementation it would be great if you could create a Jira issue as a feature request so it can be evaluated.
