How DHIS2 platform can enhance the access of Women suffering from Gender Inequalities to sexual and reproductive health In Africa

Details

Enhancing access to sexual and reproductive health remains a significant public health challenge, especially for women, who face various obstacles, including gender inequality, which serves as a fundamental barrier to addressing other determinants. These disparities are particularly evident at different stages of a woman’s life, ranging from adolescence through menopause and beyond. Moreover, gender intersects with all aspects of Sustainable Development Goal 3, as it interacts with various determinants. In Africa, several women and girls can’t go out and reach health facilities to access to sexual and reproductive health services due to gender norms. Telemedicine may contribute to more access to health facilities because it doesn’t need mobility and high economic resources. Thanks to the DHIS2 platform, by adapting it as a telemedicine platform more women will have the access to sexual and reproductive services in Africa.
