Help needed: Not able to delete a record in a stage

Hi all,

Please note one of my user, who has given full Add/Update and Delete rights on Tracked Entity Instance and Data Values, is not able to delete a record in a stage.

And, even I am not able to delete though I have the superuser rights. The error message is:

You do not have the necessary authorities to delete this event

What could be the reason? Kindly assist.

Hi @MSP,

Are you able to share a screenshot of the authorities given to the user?

Best,
James.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have attached the image of authorities, which were not given to the role. Taking screenshot for all authorities given is more time consuming than taking this

Hope this helps.

Please note, even though I have superuser role, I am also not able to delete the record.

Hi @MSP,

Have you checked the DHIS2 logs for ERROR messages related to this? I’m unable to tell from the shared authorities.

Best,
James.

Hi @jomutsani,

Thanks for your assistance. I am new to DHIS2 and don’t know where to look for the log files. Can you please guide me where to look - I mean the folders and file names.

Thanks.

@MSP, Don’t you worry… you are in safe hands; A quick one - Is DHIS2 installed in your computer or on a server? (Windows or Linux ?)

Best,
James.

It is on a Linux (Ubuntu 16.04.9) based server and kept in our server room. I can access it thru Putty. I use Filezilla for file transfers, when needed.

@MSP - I guess you are using the same version of DHIS2 - 2.29.

Kindly check the logs folder adjacent to the webapps/ folder (where you put the dhis.war file), e.g.:

  • tomcat/webapps/dhis.war
  • tomcat/logs/catalina.out < Check on this and share the output

I am tagging @Markus to shed more light on this since he’s a pro on the backend issues.

Best,
James.

Hi @jomutsani,

Looks like I missed some info. When I tried again, I found there is no Complete/Incomplete button. Instead I found something named “Skip”. See the image below.

When I tried to Skip, the button changed back to “Schedule back”. So I guess this is the reason it is not allowing to delete the record. Can you please check what does this “Skip” mean?

I remember we tried to schedule some events during our testing and it could be one of the test record.

@MSP; I would like to request you to be a little bit patient and @Markus will have a look at this when he is back.

Best,
James.
