Has anyone developed a TB-MDR patient tracker module for DHIS-2

Hi all,

We’ve been asked to advise on software that the national level TB program can use to track TB multi-drug resistant patients. They are not collecting a lot of data, but want nominative lists to better follow outcomes.

Has anyone done something of this sort using DHIS-2 patient tracker module that might inspire the Rwanda TB program as we begin thinking about the appropriate tools. The TB program already collects their quarterly aggregate data using DHIS-2.

We’re also looking at OpenMRS, which has a TB case management module already developed, but it collects a lot more data than is required and more work for health facility level staff.

Thanks,

Hi Randy,
We have customized DHIS2 tracker for National TB Control and Chest Diseases (NPTCCD) in Sri Lanka.

NPTCCD mainly uses DHIS2 tracker for Asthma, but on experimental basis tracker is satisfactory for TB as well. We are trying to migrate to DHIS2 from a ‘legacy’ system.

I am copying this to Dr Rodrigo from NPTCCD if you need more details. Glad to share our experience with tracker for TB and respiratory diseases.

Hi Randy,

We have customized DHIS2 to track TB patients in Guinea Bissau. The TB program is also using DHIS2 for quartely reports.

In the begining the two where customized separatly and some reports were created using the querybuilder. Now with the cohort reporting included in DHIS2 tracker we will be able to produce the quartely reports currently captured using the aggregate module.

Let me know if you need any help.
