In Android app versions (3.0) to (3.1.1.1),
the “Organizational Unit” field displays the organizational units expanded , not collpaced.
This makes it difficult for the user to close the branch and then open the branch they specifically want when there are multiple governorates, directorates, and health facilities.
The OUs are expanded after the user clicks on the + icon, and if they click on the - icon the list will collapse. Would you please explain further what’s difficulty being faced here?
When the organizational unit tree is open to the last branch, you must close the branch for each governorate until you reach the governorate in which you want to locate the health facility. Then, you must close all directorates in that governorate until you reach the directorate where the health facility is located.
This is where the difficulty for the user lies.
The current behavior where organizational units appear expanded by default is intended — the idea is to help users select an org unit quickly and easily, especially when dealing with a relatively small number of capture org units.
However, users can always use the search bar to find a specific org unit faster. Additionally, reducing the number of capture org units assigned to a user can also make navigation more manageable.
That said, if you have a different use case or scenario where this behavior is not ideal, please feel free to share more details. We’re happy to evaluate it and explore alternative solutions if needed.
Thank you very much for the clarification.
However, based on our experience with a large number of users and a number of programs such as (TFC - NSS - CMAM … etc.), we believe that the optimal and best option is to have the organizational units compressed and open them according to your needs or to search for the organizational unit you want to search for.
Since the time required to close approximately 14 governorates takes longer than opening a single governorate, then opening the directorate within that governorate, and then selecting the health facility.
I hope you get my point.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and clarification.

Thank you very much for your clarification and for sharing your experience — it’s very helpful.
Could you please check if the way organizational units are rendered in the Capture App (web) works better for your use case (just to use it as reference)? It might offer a workflow that aligns more closely with what you are describing.
We really appreciate your feedback, and the team will review it carefully and work on providing a solution as soon as possible.
