I have a data element with aggregration type sum but when generating the report in event report it doesn’t sum it up instead gives me the count of every value. what should I do to get a total of the value entered in the field?

What version is your DHIS2 instance?
I would recommend creating a Program Indicator instead and using the Data Visualizer app. Configure Program Indicators - DHIS2 Documentation.
